Unlike in Rummy, in Gin Rummy, the Ace can only precede the Two, never follow the King, and is always worth one point. Each rank has a point value that carries weight during the scoring at the end of the round. The ranks are Ace, Two, Three, Four, Five, Six, Seven, Eight, Nine, Ten, Jack, Queen, and finally King.
